British Airways to provide free fast in-flight internet through satellite partnership

Flyers flying with British Airways are set to use high-speed connectivity onboard without charge due to a new agreement from the billionaire's communications firm.

Free plus High-speed Connectivity Across the Board

British Airways announced that this free, “fast and dependable” wifi provision via the satellite provider becomes available for customers in economy, premium economy, and premium cabins as of the coming month.

Widespread Rollout Over Multiple Flight Operators

The holding company for the airline, the airline group, announced it had secured an partnership with Starlink for providing connectivity services on 500-plus planes across the group's carriers, including the Irish airline, Iberia, and Vueling.

Smooth Connectivity starting at Gate to Landing

British Airways stated that this rollout for the system formed part of a £7bn “upgrade” plan and would provide uninterrupted internet service to travelers starting at boarding to arrival, including when they are flying across oceans or far-off locations.
