Helicopter Spins Out of Control into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
An aircraft flying near a crowded California shoreline unexpectedly began spiraling wildly, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Footage posted on social media depict the chopper beginning to twirl above Huntington Beach then falling near the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck among palms and a set of stairs close to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters said five people were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” following the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Specifics on their injuries were still under review.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
